Welcome to the DSC capstone program! 👋 I’m in my second year as a lecturer in Data Science at UCSD. Prior to moving to San Diego, I was a student at UC Berkeley, where I also taught Data Science. And before that, I grew up in Windsor, Ontario – make sure to tell me if you’re also Canadian! 🇨🇦 Outside of the classroom, you’ll find me learning how to cook, FaceTiming my dog 🐶 back home, watching basketball, or somehow being randomly selected to win gift cards on morning talk shows.
At UCSD, I’ve taught DSC 10, 40A, 80, and 90, but I’ve never been involved in the capstone sequence, so I’m looking forward to learning alongside you all for the next 20 weeks. Here’s to a great year! 😊

Hi I’m Keng-Chi, a PhD student in the Political Science department studying online behavior on social media, computational social science, and more recently political internet memes. I’m originally from Taipei, Taiwan (so I’m a bit picky about tea and boba 🧋). I’ve been TA for DSC180 before and I genuinely enjoyed talking with students and guide them to build their own project. Outside of work, you’ll find me moving things in Rimac or enjoying independent films.

Hey! I’m Praveen, from Fremont, California, and I’m currently a master’s student in computer science here at UCSD. I just graduated this past year from UCSD’s data science program, so I’ve been down this road before, and I know how challenging but also exciting this capstone can be. I can’t wait to see how everyone’s projects develop over the next year, and I’m here to help however I can with that process! In my free time, I watch a lot of sports, read books from Geisel, and struggle to play the guitar.
